Why go here?

Kenya is rapidly becoming one of our fastest selling fishing destinations, largely helped by all the amazing pictures being spread on social media! It’s hard to appreciate the diversity and density of the amazing fish we chase out there. We have several reefs along Diani that are excellent for hunting Spanish mackerel (kingfish), barracuda, various jacks, groupers and snapper. A bit further out and we’re onto the deeper reefs targeting yellowfin tuna, marlin, sailfish, cobia, wahoo and kingfish! The skipper adopts a variety of techniques to get on the fish from dropping in on bait balls, trolling teasers and chasing the birds. They have jumped in on whole shoals of billfish and regularly bag nice cobia. kenya-real-big-fishMake no mistake, this is not ‘just another spearfishing destination’. The general lack of commercial fishing around this area means the fish here are left to grow and grow into monsters! We have a variety of boats at our disposal ranging from ribs to rapid sports cruisers. Unless otherwise requested, we use a combination of them during the holiday – namely the rib for close reefs and faster boats for the remoter, deeper reefs. This works well and allows us to keep the costs down where possible.

Accommodation

Everything about this holiday screams extreme fishing but in luxury 🙂 The accommodation is situated in a complex sporting two pools and a water sports centre which covers scuba diving, fishing, kayaking and kite surfing. Across the road is a shopping centre with restaurants and bars. It’s just 10 minutes’ walk from the famous ’40 thieves’ beach and the Shakatak night club.

All this is right in the heart of Diani beach which was once again voted Africa’s most beautiful beach. This 10 kilometre long white powder sand beach stretches on to crystal clear oceans like a postcard photo. All this makes for a dream holiday that can be enjoyed by the people spearfishing or the family relaxing in paradise.

Family friendly

Is Kenya family friendly? 100% ySo many trips leave the rest of the family bored and stranded. Not Kenya – this is the most family friendly holiday we offer. We have so many activities! Scuba diving, deep sea fishing, kite surfing, jet ski, micro light flying, parachute jumping, kayaking, snorkeling the coral garden, dolphin watching, whale shark expeditions (Feb-March), whale watching (July-October) – not to mention our famous Shimba Hills National park and Mwaluganje elephant sanctuary with 250 roaming gentle giants, both only 30 minutes drive away.

We also have the Colobus monkey trust here, Snake Park, Crocodile Park and local witch doctor 🙂 In our very own garden we have 4 species of monkey which will keep the kids entertained for entire trip! All of these things can be arranged from the complex. Prices include breakfast and we can hire a full time chef at a small extra cost (if required) – however the restaurants around Diani are famous and should definitely be explored.

Good to know

Malaria: located directly on the beach we have very few mosquitoes here. However it’s always best to be safe so we suggest you take the advice of your local GP.
